Well, hello there and thanks for surfing my wave!
“A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour. “ ~Author Unknown
We are probably on one of the largest, most depressing and miserable detours of our days. Downright numbing. What this unexpected and unpleasurable time we have permits us to do, at least, is to enjoy the commute. In the past, we have always been worried about being late to work and rushing; now, we find our commute an endless road that leads to an abrupt cliff like a dead man’s curve ending with a fall into the chasm below. I am actively trying to look around and, maybe not enjoy the scenery, but see what the scenery has to offer in the way of new and fresh ideas, hence this blog. Give yourself some breathing room while you panic, per se. As you do look around, you never know, something might hit you.
“Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open. “
~John Barrymore
As I posted earlier, we need to be aware of where the doors are and how they operate in our new lives. If we choose to isolate ourselves in a remote location, we will not be found and these doors will be shut so tightly, there will be no room for happiness, or anything else, to unearth us from within. Now more than ever, we must be willing and able to take risks and put ourselves out in the open for all to notice. Go forth and be adventurous!
“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.“
~Margaret Young
Take this time, not only to reflect, but to restructure and reconsider you for the future; to make you better, stronger and empowering. What is changing inside us and within us that might work better going forward? Self-reinvention. Persevere and trust yourself. If you think it, you can do it. If it doesn’t happen, it wasn’t in the cards. Keep going. The more time passes, the more I get excited to venture further and further out.
You know that “box” people say we shouldn’t think inside of? It has no doors…
“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”
~Nathaniel Hawthorne
Don’t over think it as I’ve been told umpteen times lately. Believe me, I don’t just come up with this stuff – I’m a prime offender. Just be yourself, do what you know to be right in your heart, and yes…it will happen. And you will be happy.
